To be honest, Oracle is really aiming VirtualBox at large corporations who have a proper IT department to help them out. However, business users do need to pay £40/$50 for the VirtualBox Enterprise edition, and you may need to commit to buying 100 licences at a time, which pretty much rules it out for all but the largest businesses, or educational users who are prepared to tackle the free version.

You should at least checkout VirtualBox ( ) it is free and opensource and runs great on my Ubuntu box. They have a OSX version and a Windows version. It was a proprietary solution that went opensource a few months ago. I have been using VMWare for about six years on Windows, but since moving to Linux have found VirtualBox to be a better product on Linux than VMWare.
I ran out of space on /usr/ports while building mono-2.4.2.1; that virtual hdd has 2GB. I have ~4GB free on /home. How do I (1) duplicate /usr/ports perfectly (cp -r ?) to /home/usrports, so I can move /usr/ports to /usr/old and then (2) can I just symlink /usr/ports to /home/usrports? Alternately, can I begin a new ports deal in /home/ports? I'd like to not have to start that over since I have downloaded and compiled a number of ports already, so copying would be a better option. 2b1af7f3a8
