in 1992, the adventures of tintin went on to win numerous awards including the canadian children's book centre's prestigious governor general's award. the show was also nominated for a grammy award for best musical score for children and received a peabody award for educational television. the animated series were produced by nelvana, ltd., (formerly nelvana ii, inc.) a canadian animation company and production company that has since also produced the adventures of jimmy neutron: boy genius, the adventures of peter and wendy, the adventures of rupert, and rugrats. the adventures of tintin were also broadcast on tv network ytv, as well as on cbs, on may 21, 1992. the show was later broadcast on pbs kids as a part of its caillou block in the mid-1990s, and was recently broadcast on ytv again for the first time since 1992. in the united states, the show aired on nickelodeon from 1996 to 1999, and was shown on nickelodeon too in the uk. it was also broadcast in australia on abc2 from 1995 to 1997.
