"I think it may be one of the greatest collections of techniques for jazz bass ever taught, and I think for those that are serious about their development as improvisors, even jazz soloists, this is one of the best books ever published for music theory and practical bass playing. Ron Carter does a great job of laying out each technique and section of the bass line in a very accessible way. I would say this is a must-read for all jazz bassists!"
Ron Carter is an acknowledged master of the bass; he has worked alongside Miles Davies, Bill Evans, Lionel Hampton, and Clark Terry. As a senior instructor for the Curtis Institute of Music, Chicago, he now teaches beginning, intermediate and advanced bass students at his own eponymous studio. In addition to his senior teaching role, he has toured and recorded with Chick Corea, Stanley Clarke, Gary Burton, Harvey Mason, and Jean-Pierre Scozzafava He has performed at the Newport Jazz Festival, the Monterey Jazz Festival, and the Playboy Jazz Festival. He has recorded on Milestones (ECM), Blackhawk (ECM), Inside Straight (Muse), and Jazz Portraits (ECM). Currently, he fronts the Ron Carter Trio, an 18-piece group which regularly tours the US and Japan. He is also the director of the Jazz Study program at the Manhattan School of Music.
The Ron Carter Method, successful in part because of its almost practical approach, quickly became a cult classic among jazz bassists. Its focus on traditional jazz composed in 4/4 time shows that Ron Carter is not unaware of the necessity for good rhythm to stand out amid the busy, chordal passages of the mid-range and high-range sections of the bass.
When you have installed everything then it is time to test and enjoy. For me, I have lived with envy and AMD/Intel combination for a while because I tried other combinations and they do not work properly. No more special cases to deal with, I just use the lite. I don't like how your system decides and I can do nothing about it. d2c66b5586
