Finally, check out the new ‘Direct Record’ mode, which has been especially designed to work with EVOLUTION’s Dual-Track recording capabilities. This mode allows you to record independent tracks for each channel of your MIDI controller, then record one or more trigger assignments to each track, such as Start, Release or Note On. This means that you can choose where and when to record your next MIDI event.
If you are using any of the other Evolution controllers, you can save the settings for them in the same way.You can also use the Evolution cross-platform Editor to save settings for any other controller you have. Just upload the settings to Evolution's site and email it to support@evolution.co.uk.
If you have additional controllers you wish to use, you can download the EVO Edit & Librarian software from Evolution's website (www.evolution.co.uk) for free. Once you've installed the software, you can load settings for any controller you have from Evolution's site. You can even save your settings from any controller to any other controller (using the same process).
The driver of my audio interface, Sound Blaster SoundMAX (16-bit PCM), is the best I have used for latency. This is a faster processing driver than ASIO, but its not as high quality as ASIO4ALL.
It is important to choose the right driver for you, as this will affect how the ASIO kernel handles your midi input. For example, ASIO4ALL will always drop all MIDI in if you're recording, whereas Sound Blaster will allow you to choose whether or not to record MIDI data.
I am able to use my high resolution control panel and I am looking for the same functionality with the old evolution. I am able to use an external audio interface via USB, however the latency is very high. As I have the controller connected directly to my ASUS USB audio interface, I am wondering if it is possible to do the same thing with the evolution. I have tried a number of ASIO drivers, but with the generic low latency ASIO I am not able to achieve the same results as the high resolution control panel. I have also tried to use the evolution as a stand alone MIDI controller, but this is a bit limited. 827ec27edc
